Anthony Dupont from England is a Phuket resident and a worldly individual with work experience in over 40 countries. After completing his Master's degree in development economics in the UK he began his path in the leisure industry as a tour leader with Explore Worldwide, constantly on the move globally over the next ten years. After a year in Sri Lanka whilst working for a large destination man¬agement company, he moved to Bangkok and first entered the hotel industry with Aman Resorts in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, followed by positions of Director of Sales and Marketing at The Sarojin, Ani Villas, Indigo Pearl and as Executive Assistant Manager at The Slate before taking position of General Manager at Paresa.

Phang Nga Bay

"It’s Phang Nga Bay for sure. What I love about the experience is that depending on the tide levels, you have different experiences as certain caves and beaches appear with the tides. Magical secret ‘hong’ lagoons, soaring limestone cliffs and empty beaches are too numerous to count and allow for you to visit pretty much alone most the time. Of course the famous spots are busy but just go around the corner and it’s all yours. Travelling with a private longtail boat with a picnic allows flexibility and is my choice of transport."

Pheang Prai Restaurant

"With so many great choices on the island, Phaeng Prai is a hidden gem set near the Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre with views across a small lake and up to the mountains. Local specialties with usually a few new weekly dishes keep it interesting. I’d suggest lunch better than dinner as you need to enjoy the views, and listen to the ‘whooping’ gibbons in the distance."

"One of the reasons to live in Phuket is for the beach and sea and when the day has just been a little too long, a sunset drink on the beach is hard to beat. Whilst there are great little beach clubs and restaurants on most the coast, I like to visit Layan/Laguna beach area for that perfect sundowner."
