Forbidden City, also called the Palace Museum, is surely one of the top 10 places to visit in Beijing. It is the most complete and largest wooden structure complex in the world. Serving as the royal palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911), it contains numerous exquisite antiquities and cultural relics. Lama Temple, also called Yonghe Palace, is the largest and best preserved lamaseryin Beijing. It once was the residence of Emperor Yongzheng (the third emperor of Qing dynasty). After his death, it was converted into lamasery in 1744 and so Yonghe Palace became the national center of Lama administration. Occupied an area of 66,400 sq. m., Lama Temple is comprised of torii, Grand Hall, Yongyou Hall, Falun Hall and Hall of Boundless Happiness. It is dotted with screen wall with carved murals and decorated archways. The interior pavement leads to the main halls. The evergreen pine and cypress add the peaceful and secluded atmosphere. The Yonghe Palace with the distinctive ethnic characteristics of Manchuria, Han, Mongolia and Tibet has the highest rank in China.

M WOODS is an independent, not-for-profit art museum founded in 2014. Across two museum sites, M WOODS 798, housed in a former munitions’ factory in Beijing’s 798 Art District, and the newly inaugurated M WOODS Hutong, inside the M WOODS Art Community, located in the city’s historic DongCheng district, present a year-round programme of exhibitions, performances, music, education, live events and talks. The museum’s emphasis is on presenting new and historical work by Chinese and international artists, often those who have rarely or never had a solo exhibition in a Beijing institution. M WOODS has presented the first institutional solo exhibitions in Beijing by artists such as Yinka Shonibare CBE, David Hockney, Richard Tuttle, amongst others, and collaborates with international museums such as Tate Modern, London, to present unique experiences and exhibitions for a local audience.
Today Art Museum is located in Chaoyang District in the heart of CBD, just off Baiziwan Road in the Pingguo Community. Today Art Museum was founded in 2002.The museum aims to promote Chinese contemporary art based on an internationalized vision and a contemporary ideology. As the first non-for-profit, non-governmental art museum in China, TAM is dedicated to explore an appropriate development strategy for museums of its kind within a Chinese context. Through the construction of a larger institutional framework and by carrying on relevant academic practices, TAM hopes to solidify its standing in the history of art and offer a multi-tiered approach to China’s burgeoning art scene. TAM also promotes international dialogue through exhibitions and events that provide structure for meaningful cultural exchange between Chinese and non-Chinese artists and organizations.
